About the role

This opening is for a Data Scientist within a fast-growing Digital Solutions team that uses telematics and IoT data to produce actionable insights and predictive tools.

You will work with very large datasets gathered from connected equipment and apply advanced analytics, machine learning, and statistical methods to improve product performance and support customer decision-making. The role involves partnering with engineering, product, and data colleagues to turn insights into scalable, production-ready solutions.

The position offers the chance to contribute to innovative work in predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, optimisation, and reliability modelling, while helping shape next-generation digital products.

Required background and experience

• A degree or master’s qualification in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or a closely related field is needed.
• Applicants should have 3–5 years of professional experience in Data Science or Machine Learning.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying machine learning models is essential.
• You should be comfortable with statistical modelling, predictive analytics, and exploratory data analysis.
• Strong knowledge of both supervised and unsupervised learning methods is required.
• Experience with anomaly detection, classification, clustering, and regression is important.
• Strong programming ability in Python and/or R is expected.
• You should also have experience using SQL and working with large structured and unstructured datasets.
• Experience producing visualisations and presenting analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences is needed.
• Clear communication skills are required so you can turn complex results into practical business recommendations.

Desirable experience

• Previous work in predictive maintenance, reliability engineering, or survivability modelling would be an advantage.
• Familiarity with Tableau or similar visualisation tools is desirable.
• Exposure to cloud-based analytics and machine learning platforms would be beneficial.
• Experience leading data science projects from idea stage through to deployment is a plus.
• Knowledge of automotive, transport, industrial equipment, or IoT settings would be helpful.
