Role overview
Hitachi Vantara is hiring a CTO (Configure-To-Order) Engineer in Singapore to support the assembly, validation, troubleshooting, and operational readiness of enterprise storage solutions. This role sits within the supply chain function and focuses on delivering configured systems that meet customer specifications, quality expectations, and deployment timelines.

What this role involves
You will work on configuring storage systems and servers, validating builds, supporting hardware and software troubleshooting, and assisting with infrastructure integration in data center environments. The position also includes SAN/NAS administration, switch support, RMA coordination, inventory control, and support for upgrades and deployments.
Key responsibilities
- Build and configure Hitachi Vantara storage platforms and servers according to customer needs.
- Run system tests and checks to confirm stability, quality, and specification compliance.
- Diagnose and resolve functional and technical issues across supported hardware and software.
- Support SAN and NAS environments in enterprise infrastructure setups.
- Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot third-party switches such as Cisco and Extreme Networks devices used with Hitachi Vantara solutions.
- Handle license key creation, activation, verification, and release activities.
- Manage RMA workflows, including assessment, tracking, coordination, and defective-part processing.
- Keep lab inventory accurate by organizing and monitoring systems, spare parts, and related assets.
- Assist with firmware upgrades, system updates, and hardware replacement tasks.
- Work with Engineering, Logistics, Quality, and Customer Support teams to keep operations efficient and customers satisfied.
- Follow operational, quality, and safety procedures during configuration and testing work.
- Support critical deployment, integration, and post-deployment efforts when needed.
- Contribute ideas and actions that improve efficiency, quality, and turnaround time.
Required experience and knowledge
The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of practical experience in enterprise storage, server configuration, or data center operations. Prior exposure to Hitachi Vantara storage systems or similar enterprise storage platforms is important. You should understand SAN and NAS technologies, infrastructure environments, and enterprise troubleshooting practices. Experience with switch support, especially Cisco and Extreme Networks, is preferred. Familiarity with RMA handling, inventory tracking, technical documentation, and quality control processes will help you succeed in this role.
Additional skills and advantages
Comfort with Linux, Windows Server, or virtualization environments is preferred. Experience in system integration, testing, or deployment work is an added advantage. Exposure to scripting, automation, or infrastructure management tools is also beneficial.
Working style
This position requires someone who can work both independently and as part of a fast-moving, cross-functional team. Strong problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills are essential.
