Role Overview
This full-time Clinical Research Data Analyst position is part of the OUCH Pain Lab at SickKids. The role centers on research data support across clinical studies, including randomized controlled trials and national registry work. The selected candidate will handle database setup and maintenance, statistical analysis, reporting, and data quality assurance, while working closely with the Principal Investigator or a designated delegate. The work supports the lab’s broader mission of improving pediatric pain care through evidence-based research and communication technologies.
What You Will Do
- Work with the Principal Investigator and study team to plan, create, and oversee research databases.
- Carry out statistical analysis for multiple clinical research projects with strong methodological rigor.
- Build, update, and maintain databases for current and future studies.
- Take the lead in designing and rolling out a REDCap-powered national, multi-site registry.
- Set up and document data workflows, including data dictionaries and standard operating procedures.
- Create procedures for data validation, cleaning, monitoring, and auditing to protect data quality.
- Write scripts to produce regular progress updates and data summaries.
- Perform ongoing data audits and cleaning tasks as part of routine quality control.
- Support analysis of clinical trial data under the guidance of senior statisticians.
- Share findings and key insights clearly with members of the research team.
- Help prepare abstracts, posters, and manuscripts for publication.
Candidate Profile
- Graduate training in epidemiology, biostatistics, or a closely related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in a clinical research environment.
- Hands-on exposure to clinical trials and quantitative research methods.
- Comfort using REDCap and Excel for database and research work.
- Advanced capability with statistical tools such as Stata or R.
- Strong planning and organizational ability with careful attention to detail.
- Clear communication skills and strong interpersonal effectiveness.
- Ability to collaborate well in multidisciplinary teams.
