Bar Manager

Role Overview

The Quays Bar Galway, located on Quay Street in Galway city centre, is looking to hire an experienced and energetic Bar Manager. The position reports to the General Manager and offers a salary package of up to €70,000 for the right person.

This is a practical, hands-on hospitality role for someone who thrives in a busy bar setting, enjoys leading a team, and is committed to delivering excellent guest service. You will play a key part in the smooth daily operation of the venue, supporting both service quality and business performance.

What You Will Be Doing

• Assist the General Manager with the everyday running of the bar and wider venue operations.
• Supervise, encourage, and guide the bar team during high-volume service periods.
• Consistently deliver a strong customer experience and welcoming atmosphere.
• Maintain high standards in drink service, presentation, tidiness, and overall bar layout.
• Support inventory control, ordering, receiving deliveries, and reducing waste.
• Help organise rosters, labour planning, and daily operational schedules.
• Ensure correct cash handling, till use, and opening and closing processes.
• Monitor compliance with internal standards, procedures, and company policies.
• Follow health and safety, food safety, licensing, and responsible service requirements.
• Work closely with the General Manager to improve sales, standards, and team results.
