The Berlin site serves as the Baumer Group’s center of excellence for heavy-duty products. Around 230 employees in Berlin develop, produce, and assemble especially rugged solutions for demanding industrial uses. Working at Baumer in Berlin means challenging responsibilities, strong technical standards, and collaborative teams.

As Supply Chain Manager (a) with a focus on purchasing, you will take on a key role in a dynamic, forward-looking environment. You will help shape the full value chain and contribute significantly to making processes more efficient, more sustainable, and more innovative. • Identify, select, and further develop suppliers.
  • Conduct and conclude negotiations on pricing and delivery terms, including individual and annual negotiations.
  • Create and place individual orders as well as framework and volume contracts.
  • Manage and improve the end-to-end supply chain.
  • Evaluate inventory levels, demand, and material flows.
  • Coordinate closely with suppliers, logistics partners, and internal departments.
  • Plan and monitor procurement and production processes.

Requirements

  • A completed degree in business administration, industrial engineering, or a similar field.

  • Advanced user skills with ERP systems, especially SAP S/4HANA, plus confident use of data analysis tools such as Excel and BI tools.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking, assertiveness, and a hands-on mindset.
  • Strong organizational ability and a structured way of working.

Work arrangement

The company operates on a 100% on-site basis because collaboration is expected to happen where ideas are formed: in person. The employer believes that strong leadership, team spirit, and fast decision-making work best with direct exchange. In exceptional cases, working from home may still be possible occasionally.

Benefits

  • Infrastructure and equipment perks may include free parking, changing rooms with shower facilities, discounted clothing, and other location-based advantages.
  • Affordable, good-quality meals are provided, with special options during night shifts; fruit and mineral water are also available for quick refreshment.
  • Family support and flexible working hours are offered where possible, along with understanding during unexpected events and difficult times.
  • The company organizes events such as summer celebrations, Christmas parties, team outings, and sports activities.
  • Recognition is given for long service and for employee referrals, with rewards for special commitment.
  • High workplace safety standards are maintained, and health-focused offerings help employees stay fit and well.
  • Depending on the site, employees can benefit from attractive pension, accident, and special leave arrangements.
  • Training opportunities include strong apprenticeship support, language courses, company-specific development, and rotations into other work areas.
  • Depending on the location, employees may receive discounts and special conditions in sport, leisure, and apparel.
