Role Summary

This is an on-site Security Systems Installer or Electrician position based in Auckland. The role may be full time or part time. You will work with the DankoSec team to install CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, and related electronic security systems at client locations.

Key Duties

• Carry out installation of security systems at customer sites.
• Read technical drawings and use them to guide installation work.
• Run cabling and terminate cables to the required standard.
• Fit, position, and align cameras, sensors, and related devices according to company guidelines.
• Work directly with clients on site to explain how the system operates.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with safety rules and established security practices.

Required Experience and Background

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with access control, CCTV, and intruder alarm installation and maintenance, or a solid electrical trade background. A mature professional with at least 10 years of experience is preferred, especially someone familiar with on-site installation work that may include construction sites. Experience from the UK security industry and exposure to Honeywell or Lenel security systems would be an advantage.

Technical and Practical Skills

The role calls for low-voltage wiring knowledge, cable handling, hardware mounting, safe operation of power tools, and comfort working at height when needed. You should also be able to work independently, contribute effectively in a team, manage your time well, and deliver work to agreed schedules and quality expectations.

Communication and Compliance

Good spoken communication and English writing skills are required. You must be familiar with health and safety rules and capable of following security industry and client background-check requirements. The position also involves regular travel to client sites throughout the greater Auckland area, so a valid New Zealand driver’s licence is essential. Applicants must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
