School Cleaner

Role overview

This position is responsible for keeping an assigned school area clean, orderly, and well maintained. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, and the starting pay is $12.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Maintain cleanliness across buildings and facilities.
• Use chemical cleaners and powered equipment according to proper procedures to avoid damaging floors and fixtures.
• Report minor or major repair needs, or any required additions to building systems, to the manager.
• Build and sustain positive working relationships with clients, teammates, shift coordinators, supervisors, and managers.
• Follow all safety, security, compliance, and quality rules set by the company, clients, and relevant authorities.
• Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, floors, ceilings, walls, machines, and equipment.
• Relocate cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean the area, using manual effort or hand trucks when needed.
• Clean interior glass, windows, partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaning solutions and tools.
• Wash and reinstall blinds.
• Collect and remove trash.
• Sweep walkways, rake leaves, cut grass, clear snow, and handle other seasonal upkeep tasks as needed.
• Wipe down tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food-service areas.
• Clean, service, and restock restrooms.

Qualifications

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• No prior experience is necessary; training will be provided on the job.
• A high school diploma, GED, or college degree is not required.

Preferred background

• Previous customer service experience is helpful.
• About 1 year of experience in a similar role is preferred.
