Role Overview

This position is centered on specialist respiratory physiology support for clinical trials, training, data review, and technical guidance. The role combines expert analysis, clinical trial oversight, protocol review, and knowledge-sharing with internal teams, investigators, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out over-reading of pulmonary function testing for both new and ongoing clinical studies.
• Review clinical trial data in depth to confirm compliance with current ATS/ERS standards.
• Assess respiratory study reports when detailed review is required.
• Track patient respiratory test results to spot unusual patterns, major declines, or possible safety concerns.
• Identify investigative sites that may need refresher training based on report findings.
• Evaluate proposed sponsor protocols to judge whether lung function and ECG testing can be carried out effectively by investigators and Vitalograph teams.
• Review biological control and accuracy-check reports as needed.
• Monitor data trends to detect possible equipment issues or abnormalities.
• Deliver internal training to Vitalograph staff.
• Share expertise in respiratory physiology, pulmonary function testing, ECG testing, associated equipment, and related therapeutic areas.
• Train monitors and investigators through meetings, on-site sessions, and remote support by phone or web.
• Develop online learning material for respiratory testing.
• Provide external training to client clinical trial staff on respiratory testing.
• Support the clinical trials team with specialist knowledge.
• Draft and revise SOPs.
• Create and present expert posters for scientific conferences.
• Handle other appropriate tasks assigned by senior company leadership or programme management.
• Contribute advice on product development and related projects within the business.
• Take part in client meetings and bid-defence discussions.
• Represent the company at scientific and industry conferences in a commercial capacity.
