About the role
Enspire is seeking a planning professional who can navigate the Resource Management Act and approach complex planning matters with practical judgement. The team works across Aotearoa on environmental challenges, aiming to deliver thoughtful advice that supports better outcomes for people and the places they value.
This opportunity is suited to someone with at least 2 years of planning experience, a relevant planning qualification, and a working understanding of the RMA. The organisation is open to adapting the position for the right person, whether they are building experience in a junior capacity or already working at an intermediate level and ready for more complex assignments.
About you
- Tertiary qualification in planning
- At least 2 years of experience in a planning-related role
- Practical knowledge of the RMA and wider planning frameworks
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with a track record of producing clear, high-quality work
- Ability to think critically and apply sound judgement
- Proactive, solution-oriented approach and willingness to take responsibility for your work
- Eligibility for, or progress toward, NZPI membership
What you may do in this role
- Support project development through planning advice
- Draft resource consent applications
- Process resource consent applications for authorising agencies
- Assist with planning policy work
- Carry out compliance monitoring and offer compliance advice
- Help clients implement changes in legislation and policy
