Package Handler - Warehouse Operations

Job Summary

FedEx Canada is seeking a diligent Package Handler to join their warehouse team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. This role involves the essential tasks of loading, unloading, scanning, and sorting freight within the facility. The position requires physical capability to handle significant weight and operate necessary equipment. Successful candidates will undergo required training and must be able to adapt to variable work schedules based on business needs. This is a full-time, onsite position.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight efficiently.
• Scan and sort packages accurately within the facility.
• Operate necessary equipment for handling packages.
• Participate in all mandatory basic and periodic training.
• Maintain annual accreditations as required.
• Work according to variable schedules based on company demands.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and maneuver packages up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in operating a Windows PC environment.
• Must be able to complete recurring tasks and meet minimum thresholds for all mandatory tests and training.
• For candidates residing in Quebec, bilingualism (French and English) is required.
• For roles requiring driving as a core competency, a valid driver's license (e.g., Class 5, G, or 1 AZ) and a clean driving record (max two infractions/accidents in the past 24 months) are necessary.
• Candidates will be evaluated on their driving record, interview performance, and driving skills assessment.
• Familiarity with FedEx Canada operations and Canadian customs regulations is a plus.
