Role Overview
This hourly position helps keep the store running smoothly by maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and teammates. The associate supports sales and a positive store experience through routine cleaning, light maintenance, and restocking of supplies. Strong attention to hygiene, detail, and follow-through is important in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Take initiative in meeting personal targets, store goals, and day-to-day priorities.
- Keep every area of the store clean by dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, wiping mirrors, and removing trash, hangers, and security tags.
- Thoroughly clean restrooms and the associate break room, including sanitizing surfaces and appliances and replenishing needed items.
- Restock register supplies such as bags, boxes, and tissue paper, and clear away items that are no longer needed.
- Arrange and replenish cleaning and maintenance supplies so they are easy for the team to access and use.
- Help maintain a safe shopping environment by spotting hazards like spills, icy walkways, or broken glass and addressing them quickly.
- Replace both indoor and outdoor lights to help keep the store well illuminated.
- Use training materials, available resources, and feedback to strengthen knowledge of store procedures and improve performance.
- Stay current on products, promotions, policies, and store events to support accurate execution.
- Build a positive team atmosphere by connecting with coworkers, sharing information, and recognizing individual and group achievements.
- Improve the customer experience by greeting and helping shoppers, supporting coverage during busy periods, and taking on additional assigned work.
- Follow asset protection, safety, and security procedures to help reduce loss and risk.
Skills and Requirements
The ideal candidate is service-oriented, dependable, and motivated to support store results. The role calls for the ability to learn quickly, use information and guidance to make timely decisions, communicate clearly, and take responsibility for assigned work. Comfort with technology such as smartphones, tablets, and Windows-based systems is important. A flexible schedule is required, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The job also involves frequent movement throughout the store and regular interaction with customers. Physical demands include bending, reaching, stretching, and lifting, carrying, or moving at least 40 lbs.
