About the role
Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support process and manufacturing engineering on the evening shift. The role is centered on keeping production equipment running efficiently, reducing downtime, and helping the production team meet hourly targets through prompt fault response, structured troubleshooting, and effective maintenance support.
This position sits within the Production Operations department in Lismeehan, O’Callaghan’s Mills, County Clare, and is an on-site role. You will be part of the AU Fill-pack value stream and report to the Production Supervisor for AU Fill-pack operations.

Working hours
The shift pattern for this position is:
- Monday to Thursday: 4:00 pm to 12:00 am
- Friday: 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Responsibilities
- Support production operations as part of a cross-functional team and help improve output by lowering the effect of downtime on the production line.
- Investigate repeat equipment failures, identify lasting corrective actions, and implement permanent solutions where possible.
- Use a data-led approach to recurring machine issues and troubleshoot electrical faults from 24V DC through to three-phase supply.
- Coordinate with the Production Supervisor and Production Coordinators/Senior Engineer to prioritize equipment breakdowns and recovery work.
- Apply Danaher Business System lean methods to strengthen safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
- Prepare shift handovers, maintain accurate records, and deal with environmental, health, and safety-related matters in line with required standards.
Requirements
- A technical degree or diploma plus 5 to 7 years of maintenance experience in a highly automated industrial setting.
- Hands-on exposure to some of the following: pneumatics, instrumentation, hydraulics, and vision systems.
- Working knowledge of quality assurance, cGMP, FDA QSR, and ISO requirements.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Sound understanding of electronics and software-controlled systems.
- Strong analytical, structured, and logical troubleshooting ability.
- Good interpersonal skills, along with solid communication and presentation skills.
- Capability to identify and lead continuous improvement work.
- Experience in PLC programming and electrical control systems is an advantage.
- Familiarity with mechanical and pneumatic production line systems is an advantage.
