About the roleAther Energy is looking for a strategic design leader to head communication design efforts from Bengaluru. The position is based at IBC Knowledge Park and reports to the Head of Creative. The Creative team shapes the brand’s visual language, develops standout campaigns, and keeps design execution consistent across every customer-facing and business communication touchpoint.The right candidate will lead the communication design function, strengthen design capability across the organization, and help maintain a high bar for brand and creative quality across all business outputs.Key responsibilitiesSet and refresh the long-range brand design direction and visual roadmap so it stays aligned with changing business and product priorities.Own the creation and ongoing maintenance of a detailed corporate brand book to safeguard brand rules and visual consistency across functions.Direct, coach, and support the communication design team in delivering strong multi-channel campaigns and a wide range of creative briefs.Review team bandwidth, plan quarterly workloads, and allocate design resources intelligently across different business needs.Identify, evaluate, onboard, and manage external agencies, vendors, and design partners whenever additional creative capacity is required.Hire varied creative talent to grow the team in step with evolving brand demands.Partner closely with business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to solve complex problems through design.Work with Legal, Finance, and IT/IS teams to put compliant vendor workflows in place and handle software licensing and technical needs.Experience and qualificationsThis role calls for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communication Design, Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or another related creative discipline. Candidates should bring 8 to 12 years of experience in communication design, branding, or a creative agency setting, along with demonstrated experience leading design teams. Prior exposure to working with external agencies, production houses, and design partners is also required.Core competenciesAbility to shape brand strategy and create visual identities across multiple channels.Leadership in creative direction and mentoring for graphic and communication design teams.Strength in capacity planning, resource allocation, and partner management for creative work.Effective collaboration with stakeholders and problem-solving through design.Additional skills preferredHands-on familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.Understanding of motion design and video-editing fundamentals for digital campaigns.Knowledge of print production workflows, typography, and environmental branding.About AtherAther is known for building India’s first intelligent scooter from the ground up.
