Geospatial Data Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Geospatial Data Engineer to contribute to the development and operation of the EUGEA Geospatial Data Platform. This position involves creating, building, and maintaining robust geospatial data pipelines and analytics solutions. These solutions will support location intelligence, site selection assessments, spatial analysis, and data-driven decision-making across various business units. The ideal candidate should have significant experience with GIS technologies, geospatial ETL processes, cloud data platforms, and spatial analytics, along with the ability to manage extensive geospatial datasets and convert them into valuable business insights.

Key Responsibilities

Geospatial Data Engineering

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale geospatial data pipelines.
• Build automated ETL/ELT workflows for ingesting, transforming, validating, and publishing geospatial datasets.
• Integrate data from diverse sources, including satellite imagery, GPS, demographic, environmental, transportation, and business datasets.
• Ensure the quality, consistency, lineage, and governance of data across geospatial platforms.
• Develop scalable spatial data models and geospatial databases.

GIS & Spatial Analytics

• Support site selection and location intelligence initiatives through advanced spatial analysis.
• Develop geospatial analytical models to enhance business optimization and strategic planning.
• Conduct proximity analysis, network analysis, catchment analysis, hotspot analysis, and spatial clustering.
• Generate actionable insights using geospatial intelligence to meet cross-functional business requirements.
• Create reusable spatial analytics frameworks and methodologies.

Platform Development & Maintenance

• Operate and enhance the EUGEA Geospatial Data Platform.
• Monitor and optimize the performance of geospatial data processing.
• Implement automation and orchestration for geospatial workflows.
• Collaborate effectively with data scientists, GIS analysts, business stakeholders, and engineering teams.
• Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of the platform.

Cloud & Data Integration

• Build geospatial solutions utilizing cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Integrate GIS platforms with enterprise data lakes, warehouses, and business intelligence systems.
• Develop APIs and services for accessing and visualizing geospatial data.
• Support the deployment and maintenance of geospatial microservices.

Additional Information

This role is based in Bangalore and requires a full-time commitment.
