About Filevine
Filevine is a legal AI company built to support the next generation of legal work through Legal Operating Intelligence. Its unified platform brings data, documents, workflows, and teams into a single source of truth so legal work can be managed with more consistency and clarity.
At the core of the platform is LOIS, Filevine’s Legal Operating Intelligence System, which analyzes context across matters to uncover insights, automate complex work, and help legal professionals act with greater confidence. Backed by a strong team and recognized by Deloitte and Inc. for innovation and growth, Filevine is scaling quickly in the technology space.
Role Overview
The company is hiring a Content Director to lead the brand voice, content strategy, and content production that position Filevine as a leading authority in legal AI. This is a highly hands-on leadership position that combines editorial direction, strategic planning, and direct people management.
You will work across brand, product marketing, and demand generation to create content that captures attention and supports pipeline growth. The role calls for strong writing ability, editorial judgment, comfort using AI tools, and the ability to create precise, credible content for legal audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and run the content strategy across blog posts, thought leadership, case studies, research reports, email, social channels, and sales enablement materials.
- Maintain the editorial calendar and ensure content aligns with campaign plans, product launches, demand generation timelines, and important moments in the legal AI conversation.
- Shape and protect Filevine’s editorial voice so it remains authoritative, distinctive, and human across all formats.
- Turn product releases, customer wins, and company milestones into compelling content that can be shared across multiple channels.
- Create thought leadership content for the company and its executives, helping position them as trusted voices in legal technology and AI.
- Work closely with Product Marketing, Demand Gen, and Sales to translate business goals into content that advances buyers through the funnel.
- Manage staff copywriters directly by giving clear direction, constructive feedback, and development support.
- Set quality expectations and build efficient workflows that keep the team productive without leading to burnout.
- Recruit and coordinate freelance writers, subject matter contributors, and other content specialists as needed.
- Encourage a team culture that values strong craft, experimentation, and reliable deadline delivery.
- Monitor content performance, use results to guide editorial choices, and report on the impact of content on pipeline and brand awareness.
- Improve visibility through AEO, SEO, and GEO practices so Filevine content can be found by legal professionals across search and AI-driven discovery.
- Lead content repurposing and distribution so each asset delivers more value across channels and audience touchpoints.
- Put editorial systems, workflows, and tools in place that provide clear visibility into the full content pipeline.
- Use AI writing and production tools in a thoughtful way to increase speed while preserving brand voice, accuracy, and integrity.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in content marketing, copywriting, or editorial roles, with proven success producing a large volume of strong B2B tech content.
- Hands-on writing experience, not only management experience; the candidate should be able to actively write and edit.
- Proven ownership of content strategy and editorial planning in a fast-paced B2B SaaS or technology setting.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and grow other writers through direct, helpful editorial guidance.
- Solid command of SEO fundamentals.
- Working understanding of AEO, GEO, and AI-led discovery, including structured answers, topical authority, and citation visibility in AI search.
- Practical experience using AI content tools and clear judgment about where they add value and where they do not.
- Editorial decisions informed by data, with the ability to discuss content impact in business terms.
- A strong portfolio of B2B content, with writing samples or a portfolio link included in the application.
Preferred Background
- Experience in legal technology, legal services, or professional services.
- A JD or other legal background, which would be especially useful when writing for legal audiences.
- Experience producing executive thought leadership, including ghostwriting for senior leaders.
- Familiarity with social-led content strategy, especially on LinkedIn in a B2B environment.
Location
This position can be either hybrid or remote. Some in-person participation will be expected for key team milestones, campaigns, and events. Strong candidates may receive added location flexibility.
Compensation and Benefits
The base salary for this role is $170,000 to $210,000. Final compensation will depend on factors such as location, education, qualifications, experience, skills, and performance. The role also includes paid time off and access to a comprehensive benefits package.
Additional benefits for full-time employees include medical, dental, and vision insurance; maternity and paternity leave; short- and long-term disability coverage; the opportunity to learn from a dedicated leadership team; and company swag.
