Role overview
You will join Siemens Energy’s spare parts quoting function for Compression, supporting the Naroda team with the preparation of spare parts quotations for regional Client Managers. The role focuses on helping determine customer part requirements and identifying opportunities to grow parts sales. It also involves working across multiple factory functions, including engineering, supply chain management, manufacturing, and order management.
The position reports to the Head of Sales Support - Bid Management India for Compression and may be based at any of the listed sites.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the main contact for the regional bid management team for all spare parts quotation requests related to compressors.
- Create formal bids and pricing details using SAP, SFDC (Salesforce.com), and other pricing tools.
- Take timely, well-informed pricing decisions for parts while maintaining accuracy.
- Work with the relevant teams to ensure quotations are submitted within the required turnaround time and escalate delays when needed.
- Trigger engineering reviews when customer specifications require them, and coordinate with engineering and operations on new drawings, drawing updates, and alternate material usage.
- Work out lead times using inputs from planners, buyers, and manufacturing teams, and suggest delivery options for purchased and manufactured items when required.
- Examine customer purchase orders and share the information with order management, SCM, and operations.
Candidate profile
- A high school diploma or technical diploma in engineering is required; a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience may also be considered.
- More than 3 years of experience in customer service, sales, or data management is expected; candidates with higher experience may be considered for senior-level opportunities.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation abilities, along with a professional approach and solid organizational skills.
- Good command of Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; exposure to ERP systems like Oracle or SAP will be an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to stay accurate while meeting demanding deadlines.
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a team, with self-drive and familiarity with Siemens Energy’s products and services.
