Role overview

An experienced and committed waiter or waitress is needed to support the floor management team with the daily operation of the Barbican Bar & Grill.

The Barbican is a major arts destination with auditoria, rooms, and event spaces available for a broad mix of occasions, including conferences, AGMs, product launches, meetings, receptions, and weddings.

What the role includes

You will be responsible for managing your section, understanding guest needs, and delivering smooth food and beverage service.

Key duties

• Deliver outstanding guest service while completing all tasks associated with the position.
• Support the successful delivery of food and beverage service across the venue.
• Set up tables and prepare the required service equipment.
• Take orders and handle payment processing.
• Follow company procedures, policies, and training requirements.
• Resolve customer service issues effectively and professionally.
• Work closely with kitchen, floor, reception, and other relevant teams to ensure service quality remains consistent with management standards.
• Respond to guest requests politely and escalate to the line manager when needed.
• Observe all relevant laws, government guidance, and workplace safety rules, including the Food Safety Act, Health and Safety at Work Act, and COSHH regulations, as well as the company’s health and safety policy.
• Comply with legal and operational requirements covering fire safety, security, licensing, local authority conditions, client requirements, and any other reasonable instruction from senior management.

Working details

This is a full-time position. The advertised pay is £14.80 per hour plus Tronc.
