With more than 3,000 advertising placements across Australia and New Zealand, the company provides wide-reaching brand exposure through a large network spanning roadsides and airports.

Role Overview

This is a permanent, full-time position that can be based at the head office in Kelvin Grove, Brisbane, or performed remotely from Sydney or Melbourne.

The Town Planner will be a key contributor to Bishopp’s development pipeline by reviewing and interpreting planning requirements for sites in the early phases of development. The role suits someone who is highly detail-oriented, comfortable working through complex planning frameworks, and driven by outcomes that support business growth.

You will bring together strong planning expertise and a commercially aware approach to help the business spot opportunities, manage risk, and move projects forward efficiently.

Key Duties

  • Offer specialist guidance on planning laws, local planning schemes, and regulatory rules affecting proposed development sites.
  • Carry out thorough assessments of planning controls and identify opportunities, risks, and possible routes for progressing a site.
  • Liaise with external planners, consultants, councils, and other stakeholders to obtain, review, and present accurate planning information.
  • Work with internal teams across the business to assist with site acquisition, development proposals, and strategic decisions.
  • Take responsibility for planning investigations and help ensure projects continue advancing toward commercial results.
  • Travel throughout Australia to inspect potential development locations and evaluate site suitability.

Experience and Skills

  • A bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Town Planning, or a closely related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a professional planning position.
  • Background in a private consultancy, local government, state government, or an equivalent planning environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret planning legislation and regulatory frameworks accurately.
  • A results-focused mindset with proven experience balancing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A current driver’s licence.

Why Join Bishopp

This is an opportunity to join a growing and successful organisation where your expertise will directly influence the delivery of new development opportunities across Australia. Bishopp values the growth of its business and its people alike.
