Job Overview

KEO Group is seeking a skilled Technical Translator to be seconded to a government sector client in Doha, Qatar. This role involves providing accurate written translation and interpretation services between English and Arabic for a variety of technical, business, and administrative documents. The translator will ensure the fidelity, consistency, and confidentiality of all translated materials, maintaining the original meaning and intent.

Responsibilities

• Translate technical, business, legal, and operational documents between Arabic and English, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and preservation of the original meaning and tone.
• Review, proofread, edit, and finalize translated content produced by internal teams and external vendors.
• Verify that translated materials adhere to established standards for terminology, clarity, style, formatting, and overall quality.
• Conduct research to accurately apply specialized legal, technical, and industry-specific terminology.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to guarantee technical accuracy and uniformity across all translated documents.
• Develop, maintain, and improve translation guidelines, reference materials, and terminology databases.
• Prepare necessary translation reports, records, and supporting documentation.
• Uphold strict confidentiality for all sensitive company documents, information, and correspondence.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing initiatives and provide mentorship to junior translators when needed.
• Participate in the ongoing enhancement of translation processes, tools, and quality benchmarks.
• Undertake additional translation and language-related tasks as required by business needs.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in technical translation, with a preference for experience related to railways and transportation.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Translation, Languages, Linguistics, Arabic, English, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience in Arabic-English translation within technical, engineering, infrastructure, transportation, or corporate settings.
• Native or near-native fluency in both Arabic and English, complemented by exceptional written communication abilities.
• A solid grasp of technical, legal, and business terminology.
• Proficiency in proofreading, editing, and quality assurance processes.
• Familiarity with translation software and terminology management tools is advantageous.
• Keen attention to detail, strong organizational capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under strict deadlines.
• Capacity to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and subject matter experts.
