Role overview

This position is for a hands-on fixed assets accounting lead who can manage asset accounting activities end to end, support compliance across several accounting frameworks, close books on time, and prepare management reporting. The role calls for strong SAP HANA knowledge, advanced Excel capability, and an interest in using automation and modern tools to improve finance processes.

Key responsibilities

The incumbent will oversee fixed asset records, accounting entries, reporting, audit support, and process controls while partnering with multiple teams for capital expenditure tracking and asset lifecycle management.

Fixed asset accounting

• Own the fixed asset register and ensure additions, disposals, and depreciation are recorded correctly.
• Carry out periodic physical checks of assets and match the results against the register.
• Work with different teams to support CapEx planning, budgeting, and monitoring.
• Review and post journal entries, reconcile the fixed asset sub-ledger with the general ledger, and explain key variances.

Compliance, reporting, and close

• Ensure all fixed asset transactions and reporting comply with applicable GAAP requirements, including IFRS, US GAAP, and local GAAP.
• Prepare fixed asset reports for both internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Support preparation of financial statements with a strong focus on asset-related disclosures and entries.
• Prepare MIS reports for senior leadership.
• Deliver accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities within deadlines.

Audit, controls, and improvements

• Compile audit schedules for fixed assets and respond to auditor queries.
• Strengthen internal controls over fixed asset operations to improve accuracy and compliance.
• Resolve audit observations and implement corrective actions so that no adverse comments remain.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve asset accounting efficiency.
• Promote the use of automation and advanced technology in fixed asset and enterprise asset lifecycle processes.
• Guide and train team members on best practices in fixed asset management.

Advisory and analysis

• Advise management on CapEx versus OpEx evaluations.
• Share insights on the financial impact of fixed assets and enterprise asset lifecycle decisions.

Additional information

The role requires a proactive, detail-focused professional who can handle multiple priorities, work under pressure, and contribute to improvement initiatives. Experience in a listed company and familiarity with other accounting tools are valued.

Qualifications and skills

• A professional accounting qualification such as CA or Cost Accountant is preferred.
• Strong experience in fixed asset accounting within a multi-GAAP environment.
• Working knowledge of SAP HANA and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Good command of IFRS, US GAAP, and local GAAP.
• Solid analytical, problem-solving, and organisational abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage tight timelines and coordinate several tasks at once.
• A self-driven attitude with a strong focus on timely delivery.
