Senior Electrical Engineer (MEP)

Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Electrical Engineer – MEP to oversee and direct electrical works for high-rise building projects across the UAE. This role requires solid hands-on expertise in MEP contracting, including electrical installation, coordination, testing, commissioning, and on-site delivery control to keep work aligned with project expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Take charge of electrical MEP activities on high-rise projects and drive them through to successful completion.
• Study electrical drawings, technical specifications, and project deliverables to ensure accurate execution.
• Liaise closely with consultants, contractors, architects, and other MEP teams to keep coordination smooth.
• Oversee installation of LV systems, power distribution, lighting and emergency lighting, small power, fire alarm, ELV systems such as CCTV, access control and data, as well as earthing and lightning protection systems.
• Check and approve shop drawings, material submissions, and related technical documentation.
• Make sure all electrical works follow approved drawings, specifications, and applicable authority standards.
• Track progress on site and help ensure electrical tasks are finished within planned timelines.
• Carry out site checks and enforce quality control standards throughout execution.
• Work with subcontractors and on-site teams to solve technical and coordination issues.
• Review method statements, inspection requests, and testing procedures before implementation.
• Participate in coordination meetings with consultants and other project stakeholders.
• Ensure full compliance with UAE authority regulations and site safety requirements.
• Assist with testing, commissioning, and final handover activities.
• Prepare technical updates and reports for the Project Manager and MEP Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in Electrical MEP work.
• Background in high-rise buildings, residential towers, commercial buildings, or other large-scale projects in the UAE.
• Strong understanding of electrical design principles, installation practices, testing, and commissioning.
• Exposure to working with consultants, main contractors, and MEP subcontractors.
• Good knowledge of UAE electrical codes and authority requirements.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications accurately.
• Proven leadership and site management capability.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
• Comfortable managing several work fronts at once while meeting project deadlines.

Additional Information

This position is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and is intended for an onsite full-time arrangement. The role focuses on managing electrical works for high-rise MEP projects within the UAE and requires close coordination with multiple project stakeholders, strict adherence to authority requirements, and active involvement in execution, testing, commissioning, and handover.
