Role overview
The Safety & Security Manager will oversee hotel security operations, protect guests, employees, and property, and ensure strong emergency readiness across the site. The role requires hands-on leadership, effective incident response, and close coordination with hotel leadership and other departments.
Key duties
- Direct the security team and manage day-to-day security activities.
- Check security logbooks every day and raise serious issues to senior management.
- Investigate guest incidents, accidents, and employee-related matters, then complete reports within 48 hours.
- Monitor and control access to the property, including contractors, vendors, visitors, and gate pass procedures.
- Oversee CCTV monitoring and security coverage throughout the hotel.
- Make sure all hotel safety and security procedures are followed strictly.
- Keep security records and departmental reports confidential and well maintained.
- Prepare monthly management reports and operational updates.
- Ensure readiness for emergencies, including fire safety, evacuation, and crisis response.
- Organize regular fire drills and safety awareness training for employees.
- Train security staff on emergency response, firefighting, lifesaving methods, and incident management.
- Revise and maintain emergency manuals and safety procedures together with management.
- Represent the security function in management meetings when senior security leadership is unavailable.
- Coordinate smoothly with all hotel departments on safety and security matters.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated background as a Security Manager or Safety & Security Head in a hotel or hospitality setting.
- Solid understanding of fire protection, emergency response, and security operations.
- Strong ability to lead teams, investigate incidents, and prepare reports.
- Capability to train and supervise a diverse workforce.
- Good communication skills and the ability to handle crises effectively.
- High standards of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Security or safety certifications are considered an advantage.
