Job Description

The Room Controller will be responsible for managing daily room assignments to ensure guest satisfaction by meeting their preferences for room type, view, and special requests, while also optimizing operational efficiency and maximizing hotel occupancy. This role involves close collaboration with the Front Office, Guest Relations, and Reservations departments to effectively manage VIP guests, loyalty program upgrades, and upsell opportunities. Furthermore, the Room Controller will work in tandem with the Housekeeping team to monitor room status, prioritize cleaning schedules, and facilitate timely guest check-ins. Key responsibilities include actively monitoring room availability and coordinating with Revenue Management and Front Office to achieve optimal occupancy rates, including managing walk-in guests and accommodating last-minute adjustments. The role also entails fulfilling specific guest requests for adjoining rooms, bed configurations, and amenities, as well as efficiently managing room changes with minimal guest disruption. Proactive room assignment preparation, including reviewing daily arrivals and prioritizing VIPs, loyalty members, and suite bookings, is essential. The Room Controller will also be tasked with handling emergency room relocations and reassignments due to maintenance issues, ensuring seamless communication with guests and arranging suitable alternatives.
