Product Designer, Human Interface

Role overview

Meta is looking for a product designer to help shape intuitive, high-quality experiences across its family of products and future immersive technologies. This role sits within a multidisciplinary design environment and contributes to work that helps people connect, build communities, and grow businesses at global scale.

As a product designer, you will be involved throughout the product lifecycle — from early ideation and concept exploration to final design polish before release. The role calls for strong product design, interaction design, and visual design judgment, along with the ability to influence strategic decisions in partnership with product and executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver projects independently, typically at the scope of complete features within a clearly defined area.
• Create user flows and experiences that are clean, simple, and refined across the supported platforms.
• Develop new interaction patterns and layouts that enhance or establish visual systems.
• Exchange feedback with fellow designers to continually improve quality standards.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, UX researchers, and content strategists to shape and guide the user experience from early concept through launch.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience designing software products with an emphasis on user experience, interaction design, and visual design tied to business outcomes.
• Ability to use research and data to guide product direction.
• Strong strategic thinking and communication skills.
• Comfort with prototyping tools and the creation of low-fidelity mockups.

Preferred qualifications

• Background in designing for virtual reality, augmented reality, or mixed reality products.
• Experience working with cross-functional partners in User Research, Engineering, and Product Management.
• Basic familiarity with prototyping 3D interactions or interfaces in Unity or similar tools.
• Exposure to emerging input methods such as hand tracking or eye tracking.
• Experience contributing to products built for developers and/or creators.
• Ability to use AI tools to improve workflows and produce measurable gains such as better efficiency or higher quality.
• Awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk review, bias reduction, and accuracy checks.
• Ongoing interest in building AI capability, including prompt/context design, agent orchestration, and keeping up with new AI developments.

Compensation and benefits

The expected base pay range for this role is $110,000 to $164,000 per year, with potential bonus, equity, and benefits. Final compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Base pay shown here does not include bonus, equity, or sales incentives, where applicable.
