Role overview
Bis Industries is an Australian business that delivers logistics and equipment solutions for large-scale resource and infrastructure projects across the country. Because procurement and inventory control are central to equipment reliability, cost discipline and strong operating results, the company is looking for a Procurement & Inventory Lead to strengthen supplier strategy, sourcing performance and inventory outcomes.
This is a senior leadership position with broad influence across the organisation. It is suited to a commercially minded professional who can shape decisions, foster strategic supplier relationships and drive measurable improvements in how the business buys, manages stock and controls supply chain risk.
What the role involves
In this position, you will create and execute procurement, sourcing and supplier plans that generate value, lift performance and build stronger supply chain capability. You will also oversee supplier engagement, contract administration and inventory governance while working closely with operational teams to meet quality, compliance and cost targets.
The role blends strategic direction with practical leadership and gives you the chance to improve business performance across several functions.
Key responsibilities
- Create and roll out strategies for suppliers, sourcing and procurement.
- Take the lead in supplier negotiations, contract oversight and performance evaluation.
- Develop productive supplier relationships and improve service delivery.
- Find and deliver savings without compromising quality or increasing risk.
- Manage procurement controls, compliance processes and supplier frameworks.
- Direct inventory planning, forecasting and the management of critical spare parts.
- Handle parts pricing, quality performance and obsolescence exposure.
- Use reporting and data analysis to support better decisions.
- Identify supply chain threats and put mitigation measures in place.
- Drive continuous improvement and support change initiatives.
About you
You are likely to be a procurement leader with tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain, Business or a similar field, plus substantial experience in procurement, sourcing or supply chain management. You have a strong track record in contract negotiation and supplier relationship management, along with the commercial judgement needed to balance value, quality and risk.
You should also be able to influence people at all levels of the business, understand inventory management and forecasting, and bring solid analytical and business case development capability. Success in a fast-moving environment and a commitment to ongoing improvement are important for this role.
Why join Bis

- Help shape procurement and inventory performance on a national scale.
