Role overview
This is a Phoenix Category Management returnship designed for women resuming their careers. The assignment is based in Bengaluru, follows an onsite work model, and runs for 6 months.
The role is centered on bringing international fashion and lifestyle labels into the business. It calls for a professional who can manage sourcing, assessment, negotiation, and onboarding of global brands across apparel and non-apparel categories.
What the role involves
- Identify international fashion and lifestyle brands that fit the company’s expansion plans and market direction.
- Assess potential partners and shape commercial arrangements such as margins, royalties, pricing, inventory structures, and territory permissions.
- Work with legal and finance stakeholders to convert business terms into contracts that support business goals and manage risk.
- Lead the end-to-end onboarding journey, including brand induction, operational coordination, and integration with existing retail systems.
- Coordinate closely with merchandising, marketing, supply chain, legal, and retail operations teams to ensure launch readiness and timely execution.
- Track competitor activity and consumer trends to guide brand selection and portfolio planning.
- Maintain a well-balanced brand mix across categories, price bands, and customer groups.
- Act as the main contact for international brand partners and build durable, trust-based relationships that support long-term growth.
Candidate profile
The ideal professional should have an MBA or a master’s degree in Business, International Trade, Fashion Management, or a similar field. The role expects 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in business development, brand partnerships, or licensing, preferably within fashion retail or luxury lifestyle businesses.
Experience dealing with international fashion labels is valuable, and exposure to European, American, or Asian brands is considered an added advantage. Strong negotiation ability, communication skills, cross-cultural relationship management, and project coordination capability are essential.

This opportunity is intended as a returnship for women in a career break. The position is onsite in Bengaluru and is planned for a 6-month duration.
