About The Job

Embark on a scientific career with our Microbiology Apprenticeship at Sanofi Waterford. This program offers the opportunity to gain practical laboratory experience while pursuing a recognized qualification. Designed for individuals aspiring to a career in a laboratory setting with significant projected growth over the next 3-5 years, Sanofi Waterford provides an ideal environment for mentorship and talent development. During the academic term, apprentices will dedicate three days weekly to hands-on learning in our laboratory and two days to studies with our educational partner, South East Technological University (SETU).

Our Team

The Microbiology team is integral to ensuring the quality and safety of medicines by conducting essential microbiology testing and laboratory activities before they reach patients worldwide.

Main Responsibilities

• Acquire practical experience in performing microbiology tests crucial for the production of vital medicines.
• Prepare and analyze laboratory samples, learning to accurately record and interpret findings.
• Adhere to stringent safety protocols to ensure personal, team, and environmental well-being.
• Assist in the maintenance of laboratory equipment and contribute to a safe and productive work environment.
• Develop skills in clear work documentation and compliance with established procedures.
• Collaborate effectively with team members while building the confidence for independent task completion.
• Actively participate in training sessions and apply newly acquired knowledge in both laboratory work and academic studies.

Work Model: Onsite – During term time, apprentices spend 3 days per week learning on the job at Sanofi Waterford and 2 days per week studying with our education partner, South East Technological University (SETU).
