Role Overview

This position is based in Derabassi, Punjab, India and focuses on operating goniometer equipment with a strong emphasis on precision, safety, recordkeeping, and coordination with laboratory staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Run goniometer equipment in line with approved procedures while maintaining safe working practices and measurement accuracy.
• Review measurement outputs and prepare clear, detailed reports whenever required.
• Perform routine upkeep on the equipment to support reliable performance and extend machine life.
• Carry out quality checks to confirm that goniometer activities meet required standards.
• Work with laboratory colleagues to support experiments and collect data using goniometer methods.
• Track equipment performance, identify faults quickly, and act promptly to reduce downtime.
• Escalate operational issues or deviations from standard procedures to the supervisor without delay.
• Follow strict safety requirements to protect yourself and other lab team members.
• Maintain accurate documentation of operations, results, and maintenance work.
• Take part in ongoing learning and training to stay current with improvements in goniometer use.
• Support the setup and calibration of newly installed goniometer systems when needed.
• Contribute ideas to refine operating methods and procedures so efficiency and accuracy improve over time.

Qualifications and Requirements

A high school diploma or GED is required; a degree in physical science or a similar field is an added advantage. Candidates should have around 4 to 5 years of experience operating a goniometer or other scientific instruments. The role calls for strong attention to detail, solid data recording and interpretation skills, and a good understanding of laboratory protocols, safety practices, and equipment maintenance. Applicants should also be capable of diagnosing equipment issues, communicating clearly in writing and speaking, using basic computer software relevant to the work, and handling physically demanding lab tasks. Mechanical aptitude, steady hand-eye coordination, and a willingness to learn are also important.
