Role Overview

Egis is hiring a GIS Engineer with a focus on Roads Operations and Maintenance (O&M) to work in Doha, Qatar. The role involves building and applying advanced GIS solutions that help manage and maintain road networks effectively.

Responsibilities

• Develop GIS-driven tools and workflows for analysing road networks, tracking assets, and planning maintenance activities.
• Build and update spatial databases covering road infrastructure and associated assets.
• Prepare clear maps, reports, and visual dashboards that support business and technical decisions.
• Work closely with teams from different functions to connect GIS information with other systems and operational processes.
• Handle GIS assignments from the initial stage through to delivery, ensuring schedules are met and work quality remains high.
• Keep up with new GIS tools, methods, and industry practices relevant to road operations and maintenance.
• Apply strong quality checks to maintain reliable and accurate spatial data.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geomatics, Geography, or a similar discipline is required; a master’s degree is an added advantage.
• At least 5 years of professional GIS experience, particularly on roads and infrastructure projects, is needed.
• Strong command of GIS platforms such as ArcGIS and QGIS.
• Proven experience in designing and managing spatial databases.
• Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and close attention to detail.
• Willingness to be based on-site in Doha, Qatar, and travel when the project requires it.
