Role Overview

This opening is for a founding engineer building an AI-driven operating system for commercial lending. The company is backed by YC, CRV, and Cohen Circle, and is already seeing traction toward seven-figure annual recurring revenue.

What You’ll Work On

As the first engineering hire in this function, you will design and ship autonomous lending agents for major US banks. The work focuses on difficult frontier-AI problems, including long-range reasoning over financial information and agent systems that can continuously improve themselves. You’ll own the product from the infrastructure layer through to live deployments with credit teams inside leading financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Create the backend and platform foundation for lending agents, including document processing and financial spreading workflows.
• Take products into customer environments and iterate directly with bank credit officers based on real-world feedback.
• Build self-improving agentic systems and a software factory that can enhance performance through automated evaluation-driven optimization.

Candidate Profile

• You bring expert-level ability in TypeScript and AWS, along with a strong grasp of distributed systems and modern agent architectures.
• You have a track record of delivering dependable AI systems in regulated settings such as fintech or banking, where security and auditability matter.
• You think like a founder: product-oriented, comfortable speaking with customers, fast-moving, and fully accountable for results.
