Role Overview
This role offers the chance to support the supervision of the electrical function at the Macraes processing plant and open pit mine. Working alongside the Senior Supervisor - Electrical, you will help lead the electrical team and contractors to keep electrical systems across the processing plant and surface facilities dependable, efficient, and well maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee electrical maintenance work through the maintenance planning workflow, keeping within approved budget and schedule.
- Organize electrical maintenance across the Processing Plant and Surface Mining Departments in line with planned preventive maintenance schedules.
- Support the rollout of preventive maintenance programs, including work related to instrumentation, PLCs, and the DCS.
- Identify equipment that needs higher-priority preventive maintenance and help refine existing maintenance plans and schedules.
- Help prepare maintenance and shutdown procedures, including planning, training, permit, and safety requirements, and compile this into work packs.
- Work with mechanical, metallurgical, operations, and mining teams as required.
- Assist the Senior Supervisor - Electrical with coordinating electrical contractors across the site.
- Work with stores staff to help ensure timely availability of equipment, including advising on stock levels and spare-part specifications.
- Contribute estimates and cost inputs for possible new projects or modifications when needed.
- Manage leave and rostering to maintain electrical coverage at all times.
- Create scopes of work to support effective planning and scheduling.
- Lead, coach, and develop your crew.
- Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external contractors.
Qualifications and Experience
- A formal electrical trade qualification is required.
- At least 5 years of experience after apprenticeship in a processing or heavy industry setting.
- At least 3 years of mining experience, or equivalent heavy-industry experience.
- Prior experience in a leadership capacity.
- Strong practical experience with instrumentation, PLCs, and control systems is essential.
- Experience in maintenance scheduling and planning would be an advantage.
- A full, current driver licence and the ability to drive a manual vehicle are required.
