Role Summary
The Demand & Inventory Planner will support the MES Supply Chain Manager with day-to-day logistics, import/export coordination, invoice preparation, and inventory control.
Key Responsibilities
This role involves building demand forecasts, coordinating sourcing plans, tracking inventory health, and helping maintain supply continuity for drilling chemicals and equipment.
- Prepare and maintain rolling demand forecasts for drilling chemicals and equipment categories.
- Work closely with commercial, technical, and operations teams to align forecasts with project schedules.
- Review consumption patterns and historical usage data to improve forecast accuracy.
- Regularly assess forecasting performance and look for opportunities to strengthen planning results.
- Assess sourcing needs based on projected demand.
- Coordinate with approved vendors to support competitive lead times, pricing, and on-time delivery.
- Develop sourcing plans together with procurement and logistics teams.
- Take ownership of temporary sourcing activities until a dedicated resource is in place.
- Track stock levels to avoid shortages and overstock situations.
- Keep inventory status visible and support replenishment planning.
- Evaluate supplier performance on delivery accuracy, responsiveness, and compliance.
- Help ensure operational readiness for new projects, including ADNOC-related work.
Specialized Knowledge
The position requires the ability to study historical information and project pipelines to create reliable forecasts for drilling chemicals and equipment. It also involves aligning sourcing plans with operational schedules, vendor capabilities, and project needs while protecting supply continuity for ADNOC and other regional projects.
Skills and Competencies
- Working knowledge of drilling consumables, chemicals, and equipment is a strong advantage.
- Solid analytical and data interpretation ability, especially in Excel, ERP systems, or planning software.
- Clear communication and effective cross-functional coordination skills.
- Comfort handling pressure, multiple priorities, and tight deadlines.
Experience
4 to 6 years of experience in supply chain planning is preferred, ideally within oil and gas or industrial chemicals.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or a related discipline is required.
