Role overview

The Data Management Development Lead oversees the organisation, control, upkeep, enhancement, and governance of metadata and technical documentation. This role supports the company’s digital agenda by improving the quality, availability, consistency, and system integration of technical data across multiple applications and platforms.

The position also serves as the central contact for iView administration and development, metadata governance, digital documentation work, data quality improvements, digital transformation efforts, and system-to-system connections between documentation platforms and corporate applications.

HSE compliance and leadership

  • Ensure that employees and contractors understand and follow HSE rules and statutory safety requirements.
  • Encourage the use of company safety practices and initiatives.
  • Help lower HSE exposure by improving the quality and accessibility of technical documentation.

Data management and metadata governance

  • Coordinate all work needed to structure and maintain metadata within documentation systems.
  • Maintain high standards of metadata quality, consistency, integrity, and compliance.
  • Lead efforts to recover, correct, improve, and sustain technical documentation metadata.
  • Create methods and tools that raise the quality of documents and metadata delivered by contractors.

  • Manage the preparation of MIM import files and MUM update files based on MANASA requirements.
  • Ensure that document imports and metadata updates are completed successfully.
  • Confirm that all technical documents in the MANASA operation As Built Cabinet meet iPDF standards.

Standards, numbering rules, and governance

  • Create, revise, and maintain document and TAG numbering standards and rules.

  • Act as the focal point for INCITIUS Software as OEM and participate in associated activities.

Team leadership

  • Supervise contractor resources assigned to data management and digital documentation tasks.
  • Lead project teams to achieve scope, schedule, and quality targets.

The role is based in Doha, Qatar, and operates in a complex setting with many interfaces across entities. Travel may be required to project sites and facilities, including onshore locations, offshore locations, domestic assignments, and international assignments. The normal schedule is 5 days per week during standard office hours.

Qualifications and experience

The role calls for a confirmed Lead Document Controller with 15 years of professional experience in industrial project management organisations. Strong knowledge of document control and data management is essential.
