Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site Cleaner position at Emrosy Hotel and Apartment in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. The role is centered on keeping guest rooms, apartments, hallways, common spaces, and back-of-house areas clean and hygienic. The Cleaner will handle routine housekeeping tasks, support room readiness, and help maintain a comfortable environment for guests.
Key Duties
- Carry out daily cleaning across guest rooms, apartments, corridors, public areas, and staff-only spaces.
- Perform routine tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, kitchen spaces, and other high-touch areas.
- Change bed linens, make beds, and replace towels and other room items as needed.
- Remove waste and ensure bins are emptied regularly.
- Restock cleaning-related and guest supplies when required.
- Report any maintenance or repair concerns noticed during cleaning rounds.
- Use cleaning materials and equipment according to company procedures and safety rules.
- Work with housekeeping and front office staff to make sure rooms are prepared promptly for guests.
Qualifications and Expectations
- Ability to complete standard cleaning tasks safely and effectively, including mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dust removal, and waste disposal.
- Hands-on experience cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, and living areas, with proper attention to sanitizing surfaces and handling linens.
- Careful eye for detail when preparing rooms, making beds, and checking that guest supplies are fully stocked.
- Basic understanding of cleaning products, equipment use, and safe handling practices in line with health and safety requirements.
- Good planning and time management skills for covering multiple spaces within assigned deadlines.
- Capacity to follow instructions, work independently with limited supervision, and cooperate well with colleagues from different teams.
- Polite communication skills for professional interaction with guests and co-workers.
- Physical fitness to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry linens and cleaning equipment throughout the shift.
- Prior housekeeping, hotel, or residential cleaning experience is helpful but not mandatory.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends and public holidays, depending on business needs.
