Role overview

We are looking for a Checker to review fabrication and erection drawings for pre-engineered and structural steel projects. The role focuses on verifying technical accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project and industry standards before drawings are released to production and site teams.

Key responsibilities

• Scrutinize detailed fabrication drawings to confirm they are complete and technically correct.
• Examine GA, assembly, and shop drawings in detail.
• Validate dimensions, member marks, connection details, bolt specifications, and weld information.
• Check that all drawings align with project requirements, client expectations, and relevant codes and standards.
• Compare drawings with approved design calculations and structural design documents.
• Review material take-offs, bills of materials, and NC files for consistency.
• Spot detailing issues and work with detailers to get them corrected.
• Confirm that the erection sequence is practical and that the structure can be built safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate closely with Design, Engineering, Production, and Project stakeholders.
• Keep drawing quality high and ensure release timelines are met.
• Assist fabrication and site teams by clarifying drawing-related queries.

Required skills and experience

• Strong understanding of PEB structures and steel detailing workflows.
• Hands-on experience in checking fabrication and erection drawings.
• Working knowledge of both bolted and welded steel connections.
• Familiarity with IS, AISC, MBMA, and OSHA standards and requirements.
• Ability to use or review work in Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, and Advance Steel.
• Capability to read and interpret structural and design drawings accurately.
• Effective communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
• At least 8 years of experience in PEB or structural steel detailing and checking.

• Timely completion of checking tasks.
• Lower rework levels and fewer fabrication issues.

This is a full-time, onsite position based in Vadodara, Gujarat, India. The role is with Kirby Building Systems, a group company of Alghanim Industries.
