BI Engineer - QlikView

Role Overview

This role sits within a business intelligence environment focused on building, supporting, and improving dashboards and SQL-driven reporting solutions. The position works alongside senior colleagues, business analysts, and data engineers to create dependable, scalable, and insight-rich outputs for business users.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, refine, and support interactive QlikView dashboards and reports.
• Use sound data modelling, scripting, and interface design practices to keep dashboards efficient and responsive.
• Contribute to the transition or integration of QlikView solutions with newer analytics platforms such as Qlik Sense and Power BI.
• Develop high-quality SQL queries for extracting, transforming, and validating data.
• Work with joins, aggregations, window functions, and subqueries to meet reporting requirements.
• Check datasets against business rules and confirm that data remains accurate and consistent.
• Support ETL-related work by helping extract data from multiple sources and loading it into staging and reporting layers.
• Coordinate with ETL teams to improve data movement and dashboard performance.
• Assist in identifying and resolving data load issues and performance constraints.
• Partner with business analysts to turn reporting needs into technical BI solutions.
• Make sure dashboards provide actionable insights aligned with key business metrics.
• Support integration with downstream analytics platforms and self-service BI setups.
• Carry out data profiling and cleansing with data quality teams.
• Document data lineage, transformations, and dashboard logic for governance and audit purposes.
• Gain exposure to cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, and GCP for BI and SQL work.
• Help set up connections to cloud-based databases and data lakes.
• Take part in daily scrum meetings, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Work in an agile setup with senior associates, managers, and business stakeholders.
• Maintain clear technical documentation for dashboards, queries, and workflows.
• Continue building capability in modern BI tools and cloud technologies.

Skills Needed

Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, SQL querying, QlikView dashboard development, data modelling, ETL support, BI reporting, data validation, data visualization, and exposure to cloud platforms.

Eligibility
