Account Manager

Role overview

NZME is hiring an Account Manager, officially known internally as a Media Specialist, to look after and expand a portfolio of customers in Napier. The position focuses on building effective media solutions, supporting revenue growth, and identifying fresh business opportunities. You’ll partner closely with others to create campaigns that are shaped by audience needs and deliver strong results.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you’ll manage client relationships while helping grow existing accounts and win new business. You’ll use NZME’s product mix to design advertising campaigns that are relevant to audiences, commercially effective, and aligned with client goals.

Account growth and business development

• Build and deliver audience-led advertising campaigns across NZME’s range of media products.
• Strengthen existing accounts and push year-on-year growth.
• Look for and act on opportunities to bring in new business.

Self-management and reporting

• Prepare clear reporting and accurate forecasts.
• Use CRM systems fully and work in line with NZME’s internal business standards.
• Stay motivated, proactive, and focused on targets.

Planning and organisation

• Manage time and priorities well to hit deadlines.
• Work effectively with colleagues in planning discussions to ensure smooth delivery.
• Communicate clearly and contribute with a company-wide mindset.

About you

To succeed here, you should bring 2 to 3 years of proven success in sales or account management, preferably within media or a related industry. You’ll also need either a relevant degree or a solid understanding of the New Zealand and wider media landscape. Strong target achievement, strategic campaign planning, communication, collaboration, and customer relationship skills are important for this role.

Work environment

This is a Napier-based opportunity with a high-performing and collaborative team. You’ll manage valuable client accounts, shape multimedia campaigns, and work across digital, print, and audio channels. The role offers support from the wider organisation along with the independence to develop your client partnerships.
