Security Guard

Role Overview

As a Security Guard, you will support the safety of client property, staff, and visitors at an assigned site in Saint John, New Brunswick. The role focuses on monitoring activity, maintaining order, and responding appropriately to incidents and emergencies.

Key Duties

• Watch for and document activity or incidents at the client location.
• Carry out regular patrols to spot unusual activity and inspect security and fire safety equipment.
• Maintain order and help enforce site rules related to employees, visitors, and the premises.
• Manage site entry by following the access control process.
• Patrol on foot or in a vehicle and look for hazards, unsecured doors, blocked exits, security breaches, mechanical issues, and unauthorized individuals.
• Safeguard evidence or incident scenes during accidents, emergencies, or security-related investigations.
• Respond to emergencies such as fire, medical situations, bomb threats, flooding, water discharge, elevator incidents, hazardous materials, severe weather, and similar events.
• Complete logs and reports as needed.
• Carry out additional tasks when required, as duties may change based on business needs.

Physical and Job Requirements

• The role may require clear seeing, hearing, speaking, and writing, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Occasional use of hands and arms for reaching, plus stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling may be needed.
• Frequent sitting, standing, and walking may be required for long periods, including stair climbing, uphill walking, and movement over uneven ground.
• Physical demands may include frequent lifting or moving of up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting or moving of up to 25 pounds.
• You must be able to meet and continue to meet the licensing requirements applicable to Security Guards.
