Role overview
Tesla is looking for a driven and detail-focused Process Engineer with a focus on Energy Service. This position supports the creation and upkeep of facilities that store service inventory, helping connect engineering, service, and operations. The goal is to improve process flow, system reliability, and material readiness while supporting faster troubleshooting for service technicians and better uptime across the deployed energy fleet. The role also supports the rollout of new storage solutions to ensure parts are available just in time.
Key responsibilities
- Review current field-service workflows and introduce improvements that speed up responses and make better use of parts.
- Work closely with field service teams to diagnose complex issues affecting supply chain performance and perform accurate root-cause analysis.
- Coordinate with supply chain partners to improve material movement, increase visibility of parts in transit, and support returns handling.
- Project-manage the launch of storage and rapid-access solutions across several regions so technicians can reach critical parts quickly and service delays are reduced.
- Assist with upgrades to digital tools and warehouse management systems to improve ordering, data capture, and reporting.
- Track performance metrics and turn the findings into clear recommendations for leadership.
- Create standard operating instructions, process maps, and service documentation that cut non-value-added time and strengthen reliability.
What you need to bring
- A bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, a similar technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in process engineering or field service engineering within energy, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
- Hands-on familiarity with ERP platforms such as WARP, MFS, SAP, or comparable systems.
- Strong capability in data analysis, process mapping, and continuous improvement approaches such as Lean and Six Sigma.
- Sharp attention to detail, especially when spotting inaccurate or inconsistent data.
- The ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced setting while adapting to shifting priorities.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present analytical findings and work effectively with warehouse stakeholders.
