Role Overview
Valence Surface Technologies is hiring a Prime Painter in Seattle, WA for a full-time, on-site position. This role focuses on preparing surfaces, selecting and mixing the right coatings, and applying paint finishes to parts according to job paperwork and technical specifications.
Key Duties
- Review each part closely to determine what painting work is needed.
- Select the proper paint system based on the instructions provided in shop documentation.
- Mix coatings in line with the supplied procedures or Technical Data Sheets.
- Carry out light sanding and surface preparation before painting.
- Apply the required epoxy, lacquer, resin, or similar undercoat to aluminum surfaces before the final color finish.
- Prepare and mix pigments to match aircraft-specific livery colors.
- Work efficiently, manage time well, and finish assigned tasks within the required timeframe.
- Coordinate with team members and support shared work activities.
- Apply paint accurately across different materials and metal surfaces.
- Follow safety rules and use the required protective masks and clothing during spray painting work.
- Replace paint booth filters contaminated with chromate and solvents.
- Take on additional duties as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
The pay range for this role is $21.30 to $25.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, employer-paid basic life insurance, supplemental life insurance, and a 401(k) plan with a 3% employer match.
Employees also receive a generous paid time off program, 8 holidays, and 1 floater holiday.
