Role overview
This position sits within Deloitte’s Engineering, AI & Data practice and focuses on performance testing for large-scale enterprise systems and newer architecture patterns. The work is centered on helping clients improve speed, reliability, and resilience across complex platforms.
What you will do
- Plan and execute performance tests that mirror how real users interact with applications.
- Create and maintain test scripts using tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling.
- Review business and technical requirements before designing test scenarios.
- Observe application behaviour during test runs and assess results to identify bottlenecks, instability, and areas for resilience improvement.
- Partner with developers, project teams, and stakeholders to investigate issues and propose tuning recommendations.
- Assist with test automation activities and contribute to team retrospectives.
- Continue building knowledge in cloud, DevOps, and emerging technologies, including AI.
Required experience and skills
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in performance testing.
- Ability to design workload, scalability, stability, and stress test scenarios.
- Strong working knowledge of at least two performance testing tools among JMeter, LoadRunner, and Gatling.
- Experience troubleshooting performance problems and suggesting system tuning improvements.
- Background testing APIs, databases, microservices, message queues, or FTP-based systems.
- Exposure to enterprise applications such as Salesforce, SAP, or Workday.
- Familiarity with observability platforms such as Dynatrace, New Relic, AppDynamics, or Splunk.
- Understanding of CI/CD, DevOps practices, cloud environments, or infrastructure as code.
- Basic awareness of automation tools such as Karate, Playwright, or Selenium.
- Strong analytical ability, communication skills, and adaptability.

You will be part of a collaborative Engineering, AI & Data team that combines engineering, data, and delivery expertise. The group supports a variety of work and offers room for professional growth.
Eligibility
Applicants must be Australian citizens. A NV1 security clearance is preferred because of project requirements.
