About the role
This position supports freight handling operations at the Kirkland Lake, Ontario facility for FedEx Canada. The role is focused on moving parcels and freight efficiently, safely, and accurately within the warehouse environment.
Key duties
- Load and unload freight as it moves through the facility.
- Scan incoming and outgoing freight to keep tracking records accurate.
- Sort freight within the site to ensure it reaches the correct next step.
Qualifications and job requirements
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Familiarity with FedEx Canada operations and Canadian customs regulations is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are important.
- Ability to successfully complete all initial and recurring training programs is required.
- Must be able to lift up to 70 lb and handle packages weighing up to 150 lb with the proper equipment.
- Must be able to work in a PC/Windows environment.
- Must be able to complete recurring duties and maintain annual credentials when required.
- Work schedules may vary depending on business needs.
- If the employee resides in Québec, bilingual ability in French and English is required.
- For roles where driving is a core job function, candidates must hold a valid driver’s licence such as Class 5, G, or 1 (AZ) and have no more than two driving infractions and/or accidents in the 24 months before the application date.
- Applicants for driving-related roles will be assessed based on their current driving record, interview performance, and any driving skills evaluation.
Additional information
The posted hourly pay rate is $20.37.
