The work involves maintaining safe and efficient network operations while responding to incidents, performing planned maintenance, and helping ensure uninterrupted connectivity.
Minimum qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in routing protocols, network design, troubleshooting, vendor-based networking equipment, EIGRP, IP routing, LAN switching, and data center operations.

Preferred qualifications
- Exposure to core networking technologies such as TCP/IP and protocols including BGP, OSPF, ISIS, DHCP, IPSec, GRE, Wi‑Fi standards, DNS, and RADIUS.
- Prior work in a network operations setting.
- Experience contributing to network design work.
Responsibilities
- Keep an eye on network dashboards and alerting tools, identify unusual activity or performance degradation, and perform first-level analysis using established playbooks.
- Investigate and fix network problems of low to moderate complexity across wired and wireless environments, including routing, switching, and firewall-related issues, while coordinating with hardware vendors and internet service providers when needed.
- Handle network support requests raised by users through the ticketing system, resolve them within service targets, and document the troubleshooting process and final fix clearly.
- Carry out standard, low-risk network modifications under approved change requests and maintenance procedures, such as port setup, VLAN changes, or software updates on individual devices.
- Keep network diagrams and operational records current, and take part in health checks and audits to support ongoing network reliability.
