Role Overview

The Maintenance Worker helps keep the facility safe, functional, and well maintained across the building and surrounding property in Toronto, Ontario. The role involves routine inspections, minor repairs, cleanliness support, and collaboration with property and operations staff.

Key Duties

  • Review washroom plumbing and look for leaks in fixtures or pipes.
  • Inspect fire exit signs and replace any bulbs that are no longer working.

Reporting and Working Relationships

This position reports to the Property Manager and works closely with Intake Workers, the Environmental Services Team, and the Housekeeping/Janitorial Supervisor. The role may also involve contact with supply deliveries.

Working Conditions

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with an unpaid meal break. The role is based throughout the full facility and surrounding property. Duties may involve industrial testing tools, painting and plastering, bending, twisting, lifting, ladder work, and fine motor tasks. The position requires lifting more than 30 pounds. Concentration needs are moderate to high, especially when using motorized equipment, handling hazardous chemicals, or working with general tools.

Compensation

The target pay range for this position is $25.28 to $25.65, with a maximum of $26.01. Placement within the range depends on market conditions, internal equity, and the candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role. Reasonable accommodation is available on request.
