Laundry Supervisor - The Jeddah EDITION

About the role

This position sits within the housekeeping and laundry function at EDITION in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It is a full-time, non-management role focused on keeping linen, uniforms, and laundry operations running smoothly while supporting a high standard of service in a luxury hospitality setting.

Key duties

• Keep a complete record of uniforms and linens, and carry out monthly stock checks for laundry supplies.
• Handle washing, dry-cleaning, and drying equipment, and monitor it during operation.
• Check linens and terry items for wear or damage and take appropriate action.
• Make sure laundry requests are finished for each department whenever required.
• Identify equipment faults, maintenance requirements, and safety concerns, then escalate them to the supervisor or manager.
• Train team members on laundry processes, safety practices, and proper equipment use.
• Support management with recruitment, training, rostering, performance reviews, coaching, counseling, motivation, and discipline where needed.
• Follow company policies, safety rules, and security procedures, including reporting accidents, injuries, and maintenance issues.
• Maintain a neat, professional appearance and safeguard confidential and company information.
• Communicate clearly in spoken and written form, and keep documents accurate and complete.
• Build strong working relationships, contribute to team goals, and respond constructively to colleagues' concerns.
• Help improve efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost savings through better methods and ideas.
• Inspect tools, machines, and equipment visually to spot defects or abnormalities.
• Carry out physically demanding work, including standing, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds, and moving through tight, sloped, uneven, or elevated areas.
• Perform other reasonable tasks assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
• At least 1 year of relevant work experience is required.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience is required.
• No license or certification is required.
• Ability to work a full-time schedule and handle physically active duties in a hospitality environment.
