Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled Generator Technician experienced in operating, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing generators and Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS). The role demands hands-on expertise in preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure continuous and safe functionality of power generation equipment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Operate and carry out inspections on diesel generators and supporting systems.
• Install, test, and troubleshoot Automatic Transfer Switches.
• Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance tasks to uphold equipment integrity.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and functional faults.
• Perform corrective maintenance and replace faulty parts as needed.
• Execute load testing to confirm generators’ readiness and performance.
• Monitor essential supplies such as fuel, oil, coolant, batteries, and filters.
• Respond swiftly to emergency failures and service disruptions.
• Maintain detailed logs of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Adhere strictly to electrical, mechanical, health, and safety protocols.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Possession of a technical diploma or vocational qualification in electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, or power generation fields.
• Proven experience operating and servicing generators and ATS equipment.
• Familiarity with electrical control panels, batteries, fuel, cooling systems, and engine components.
• Competency in preventive and corrective maintenance along with fault diagnosis.
• Ability to interpret technical schematics, manuals, and maintenance plans.
• Strong problem-solving skills coupled with a robust emphasis on safety.
• Immediate availability to commence work is preferred.
