Role summary

The Fishmonger position involves preparing seafood products according to store operating standards and strict hygiene procedures. The role also includes weighing fish, packing it correctly, and placing it on display for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately wrap, weigh, label, and price fish portions in an efficient manner.
• Cut, prepare, and portion seafood items in accordance with company standards and customer preferences.
• Build and upkeep appealing fish displays based on the required presentation guidelines.
• Respond to customer questions courteously, professionally, and without delay.
• Suggest additional products and remain updated on current promotions and special offers.
• Observe all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations during daily work.
• Use, clean, and sanitize seafood preparation equipment and tools properly.
• Check seafood products each day and remove any items that are damaged, spoiled, or expired.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and understand basic English.
• High school diploma or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
• 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar position.
• Strong organization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Comfort working in a multicultural workplace and adapting to different environments.
• Good listening ability with strong attention to detail.
