Draftsperson

About the role

Burbank Group is seeking a detail-focused Production Draftsperson to join its State Operations team in Brisbane, Queensland. This role is centered on producing accurate residential construction drawings that align with customer contract details, developer rules, and regulatory expectations, while supporting the company’s emphasis on design quality and practical homebuilding.

What you’ll do

• Prepare drawings that accurately reflect contract requirements, developer conditions, and Burbank’s drafting standards.
• Create detailed documentation such as site plans, floor plans, elevations, internal layouts, sections, and compliance-related diagrams including shadowing and overlooking.
• Revise and update existing drawings when variations are required.
• Carry out quality checks on engineering drawings to help ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Compile final construction drawing packages ready for approval and commencement of build.

Experience and qualifications

• A diploma in Drafting, Design, or a closely related discipline.
• Between 2 and 3 years of drafting experience in a high-volume residential home building setting.
• Advanced working ability in ArchiCAD, which is required for the role.
• Good knowledge of the NCC, building regulations, and relevant Australian Standards.
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative working style.
• Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work to deadlines in a busy environment.
• A proactive approach to solving problems and a sharp eye for detail.
• Customer-oriented thinking and a solid grasp of construction terminology and documentation.
