Role overview
This store-based pharmacy role places you at the center of patient care, working alongside the pharmacist and wider healthcare team to support the safe, effective delivery of pharmacy services. You will spend your day interacting with patients, handling prescriptions, and offering practical health guidance that helps people make informed decisions about their wellbeing.
The position is located in a UK store and is not suitable for remote working. Applications from candidates outside the UK will only move forward where valid UK qualifications and evidence of the right to work can be confirmed.
The hourly pay for this role is £13.92, with rates rising to as much as £16.64 in selected London locations.
What you will do
- Prepare and dispense prescriptions while following safe supply practices, including ordering medicines, labelling, endorsing, and handing out prescriptions.
- Work closely with pharmacists and other healthcare colleagues to help deliver pharmacy services smoothly and efficiently.
- Offer patients advice on medicines and route any clinical or complex questions to the pharmacist when needed.
- Follow standard operating procedures to make sure dispensing is lawful, accurate, and safe.
- Stay current with in-store process changes and new tools, and work in line with operational requirements.
- Help patients manage repeat prescriptions effectively, improve adherence, and reduce medicine waste.
- Use evolving store technologies and systems that are designed to improve patient safety and free up more time for patient-facing care.
- Take part in ongoing training and development opportunities, including routes toward Pharmacy Technician training or progression into store leadership.
What you need
- You must have completed the Pharmacy Advisor qualification at NVQ2 level, or be working toward it and have finished the first year of an MPharm degree.
- You must already have valid UK right to work, as this position is not eligible for Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship.
- Experience in a community pharmacy setting is desirable.
