Design Coordinator

Role overview

The Design Coordinator role focuses on steering and aligning architectural, structural, and MEP design work across multiple projects. The position is responsible for maintaining design quality, meeting local regulatory and international compliance requirements, and delivering coordinated design outputs on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and synchronize architectural, structural, and MEP design work across the assigned projects.
• Work closely with design consultants to make sure project expectations, timelines, and quality benchmarks are met.
• Run and support design reviews to check for accuracy, coordination, and compliance.
• Confirm that all design outputs follow Qatar regulations, authority requirements, and applicable international standards.
• Coordinate CAD and BIM deliverables so they remain consistent, precise, and submitted on time.
• Track design milestones and follow up to ensure schedules are met.
• Maintain the RFI log, driving prompt replies and closure from consultants.
• Spot design conflicts, risks, and missing information, then coordinate solutions proactively.
• Compile and present design progress updates to the reporting manager.
• Represent the department in design reviews, coordination meetings, and stakeholder discussions.
• Keep design records organized through proper documentation, version control, and file tracking.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 7 to 8 years of relevant experience, with Qatar experience preferred.
• Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary design work across Architectural, Structural, and MEP streams.
• Strong familiarity with Qatar construction regulations and approval procedures.
• Hands-on proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and other design coordination software.
• Good understanding of design management workflows and the full project lifecycle.
• Strong verbal and written communication, coordination, and stakeholder handling skills.
• Capability to manage several projects at once while working to demanding deadlines.
